He’s been sought-after by notable directors like Ben Affleck, Steve McQueen, David Fincher, Zack Snyder, Gus Van Sant, Karyn Kusama, and Quentin Tarantino. He was one of the lead actors on the drama about technology Halt and Catch Fire, a cult hit that ended in 2004 but is now receiving vast viewers on Netflix. He’s been featured in major TV shows such as Fargo, in addition to True Detective. He’ll be seen in the third season, and the final one of the Netflix series Narcos: Mexico on Friday. McNairy says that his never-ending career is due to the time it took him to land the jobs he had always imagined.
