Researchers at the University of Kansas conducted a research study on the effects of adolescent brain use on social media, during which past claims made were false. According to experts, even after giving up the use of Facebook or Twitter, the youth did not see any decrease in stress or happiness. Experts formed two groups of youths for research, one of which was banned from using social media for 28 days while the other was allowed to be used. The results experts performed different tests for the members of the two groups and after the expiry of the deadline, they went through the same process which revealed that even after being away from Twitter or Facebook for 28 days, the happiness or sadness of the youth. It didn’t matter. According to experts, the youngsters who stayed away from Facebook were feeling as lonely as they were in the days of using social media. Professor Jeffrey Hall, head of the research team, said: “Social media has little effect on a person’s sense of happiness and isolation. Even after 28 days, it was difficult for us to distinguish between the two groups. Stay away from the media and who’s using it.
