A UN spokeswoman said Thursday that former President General retd Pervez Musharraf responded to a question on the death penalty, saying that the UN opposes the execution of former president-general Pervez Musharraf on treason charges. Spokeswoman Stephen Dodger said during a news briefing at the UN headquarters in New York that he believes the case is under appeal but the UN is against the death penalty.
