The strange incident that took place on February 21 last month came in the news when Tejaswini Divya Naik, a passenger woman traveling in a taxi, shared some videos on social media.
Nike had booked an obituary on February 21 from Pune to his home in Andheri, Mumbai. Initially, the driver was constantly busy on the phone and I forbade him from using the phone while driving, after which he put the phone down and went to sleep, he said.
On one occasion, the driver was about to hit the other vehicle, on which he offered the driver that if he wanted to sleep for a while, he could sleep.
Miss Naik, who works in the film industry, added that when she consented, I sat on the driving seat and told her that she could sleep for half an hour because I couldn’t drive for long because of my back pain. Instead of sleeping, the taxi driver kept talking on the phone and praised his driving, he said. When the driver finally fell asleep, they made photos and videos from his phone as proof and later posted them on social media.
He also tagged the taxi company in the video of the incident posted on social media. About half an hour before arriving home, the driver awakes from sleep and started driving according to his duty. When contacted, an Uber spokesperson said in an email that ‘this is a sad and worrying event, access to the driver’s app has been suspended.
