The BBC’s first-ever-to-be-released list includes English novels published in the last 300 years. The list also includes the latest children’s classic novels, including contemporary novels, and novels from the UK and US to Pakistan, India and Afghanistan. Top 100 novels of the last 300 years have been described as influencing the thinking of people, and especially of writers and literature, and shaping their imaginary worlds. The list includes the Game of Thrones’ novel, the Harry Potter series, and the famous film ‘Lord of the Rings’. The 100 best novels published in the last 300 years and influencing people’s thinking have also included novels by Pakistani-born British novelist Kamala Shams, Mohsin Hamid and Pakistani-American novelist Bops i Sudra. The 100 best novels that influence people’s thinking are divided into different categories and Pakistani-born British novelist Kamala Solar’s novel ‘Home fire’ has been included in the ‘Politics, Power and Protest’ category. The other two Pakistani-origin novels by British-born Cousin Hamid and American-born Bis pi SIDA have been included in the Crime and Conflict category. Cousin Hamid’s novel The Reluctant Fundamentals and Bis pi Schwa’s novel “Ice Candy Man” have been made part of the list. The list of the world’s top 100 novels, published over the last 300 years, was compiled by British writers, writers and literary figures, who were asked by the BBC to make the list.
