Taiwan’s wheelchair dancers fall in Love

Taiwan’s wheelchair dancers fall in Love |A unique love story for polio-infected wheelchair dancers. Taiwanese wheelchairs dancers Avi Hong and Vincent Ko, 48, recently won the World Para Dance Sports Championship in Germany. However, the world is still unaware of these two polio-infected dancers. The two dancers from Taiwan, after spending almost a decade together, got married and transformed their love into a relationship.

Vincent and Ai Hong are considered to be the last Taiwanese to be infected with the poliovirus, and like many other compatriots, they are confined to wheelchairs. According to the news agency AFP, Vincent Ko and Ou Hong began to learn dance through a program launched by the welfare organization for special people 10 years ago and they have been learning dance together for several years. The two recently fulfilled their commitment to each other while learning dance for almost a decade and they both got married. Vincent Ko and Ou Hong initially learned wheelchair dance in the German city of Bonn, after which they continued the process of learning dance in Taipei. Vincent Ko and Ou Hong still train with the other 50 Taipei wheelchair dancers as well as perform in welfare programs. At the same time, both spouses perform wheelchair dancers with ordinary dancers; ordinary dancers who perform with them are not on wheelchairs like them, but they stand and dance on their feet like a normal human being.
