From Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, there was a one-on-one contest between Tehreek-e-Insaf’s Zeeshan Khanzada and the PPP’s son-in-law for the vacant Senate seat. The 145-member KP Assembly polling took place. Three members of Jamaat-e-Islami did not participate in the voting, while PTI’s Taj Mohammad Durand, Independent Member Faisal Zaman, and ANP’s Faisal Zeb could not exercise their right to vote.
After the polling was completed, the speaker announced the result, according to which 139 members participated in the polling, PTI’s Zishan Khanzada succeeded with 104 while the son of the PPP Ali took 31 votes, 4 votes Rejected.
It is to be noted that this seat was vacated after the resignation of PPP Khanzada Khan, after which his son Zeeshan Khanzada joined the PTI and he was given a ticket for the seat.
