Pakistan’s IMF requests to soften financial system sanctions! Pakistan has requested the International Monetary Fund (IMF) to ease the restrictions on local sources of wealth to facilitate the smooth running of the country’s financial system and reduce the impact of foreign investment.

Pakistan’s request was made during a meeting held on Tuesday between the IMF delegation and the government team. Representatives of the government were represented in the talks by Finance Adviser Dr. Abdul Hafeez Shaikh, while Governor State Bank Rezaqaqar, Secretary Finance Naveed Kamran Baloch, Chairman FBR Shabarzadi and Special Secretary Finance Amir Mohammad Khan were also present. The IMF team was led by Ernesto Ramirez Rigo.
