According to Express-News, Justice Gulzar Ahmed took oath as the new Chief Justice of Pakistan. President Arif Alawi takes oath as the new Chief Justice of Pakistan. Justice Gulzar Ahmed is the 27th Chief Justice of Pakistan and will remain in office till 1st February 2022. Justice Gulzar Ahmed has been serving in the Supreme Court since November 16, 2011.
The swearing-in ceremony was attended by Prime Minister Imran Khan, Army Chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa, Chief of the Armed Forces, Chairman Senate, Speaker National Assembly, Governors, judges, lawyers and a large number of federal ministers.
On the other hand, the composition of the two constituencies changed after taking the oath of Chief Justice Gulzar Ahmed. Chief Justice Gulzar Ahmed became chairman of the Supreme Judicial Council, Justice Omar Atta Bandial became a member of the Judicial Council, while Justice Maqbool Baqar became the Member of the Judicial Commission.
