He said the missile had gone astray on the flight path, and the mission team had to eliminate it on the way. According to the report, the experience was considered very important because the technical aspects were being verified in terms of use and the ability to carry weapons in the darkness of the night was being tested.
The Indian Army’s Strategic Forces Command SFC conducted the experiment and was supported by the Defense Research and Development Organization DRDO and was a focus of training exercises on the use of missiles. The Indian authorities have not released a final report on the failure, but a preliminary investigation revealed that there were technical errors during the preparation of the missile.
The website quoted sources as saying in its report that the missile was all right and was going under the mission in the first phase, but there was a sudden uproar that could potentially lead to an error in the preparation.
The failure of the Agni III is not the first failure of Indian missile tests since the Agni-One and Agni-II had failed the test phase earlier. India tested a fire-to-missile in 2009 that failed to deliver the desired results. According to the report, the Agni III has already been handed over to the Indian Armed Forces in 2011, capable of carrying both conventional and one tonne of nuclear weapons. According to Indian media reports, the missile is 17 meters long and 2 meters wide, weighs 50 tonnes and could have targeted all major cities of Pakistan and China but failed during the trial.
