The first chief executive of Hong Kong, Tung Chee-Hwa, was admitted to the hospital on Monday for a medical check-up in connection with an operation that was not disclosed previously, according to his spokesperson.
“Mr. Tung Chee-hwa underwent an operation at Queen Mary Hospital last month, and it went well, with him recuperating,” the spokesperson stated in a statement that provided no additional information about the procedure or the medical condition that led to it.
