Asian Internet Coalition Group said in a letter that it is difficult for AIC to follow the new social media rules in Pakistan. The letter states that it is very difficult to continue services in Pakistan under the new rules.

It is to be noted that the federal government has constituted a committee to consult on the proposed rules on social media. According to the statement, the committee will discuss the rules with civil society and technology companies. The consultation process on social media rules will be completed in 2 months.
The members of the Social Media Advisory Committee include Federal Minister for Human Rights Shireen Mazari, Barrister Ali Zafar, Dr. Arslan Khalid and Additional Secretary Ministry of Information Technology. It should be remembered that Prime Minister Imran Khan had earlier said that the purpose of social media laws is not to express positive views or suppress political differences. Presiding over a review session on proposed rules of social media on February 18, Imran Khan instructed stakeholders to take confidence before implementing the proposed rules.
