Court rejects the plea of contempt of court against PM! The Islamabad High Court dismissed the contempt of court petition against Prime Minister Imran Khan as untenable.
The Durkan Bench headed by Islamabad High Court Chief Justice Athar Manullah heard the contempt of court petition against Prime Minister Imran Khan.
The petitioner Samiullah Khan Advocate took the stand that contempt proceedings should be initiated against Prime Minister Imran Khan as his speech falls under the category of contempt of court.
The petitioner said that on November 18, in the speech of Imran Khan, there was an attempt to scandalize the high court while the transcript of the controversial part of the speech was attached to the request.
Chief Justice Athar Manullah asked the petitioner why you are upset with the Prime Minister’s speech, do you want to go to trial against the elected Prime Minister? He will come now, the courts are ready to hear the criticism.
Islamabad High Court dismisses the plea after hearing the arguments. The High Court remarked that the court has neither fear nor concern for criticism.
