The fifth episode of the 12th season of ‘Coke Studio’ was released this October, but for the first time, none of the songs from this musical show have been released on YouTube. Coke Studios did not specify any of the fifth installment songs to be released on YouTube, however, it is believed that the administration did not release the songs on YouTube for fear of ‘copyright. Three days before the fifth installment was released November 21, the fourth installment of Coke Studio’s Sanam Marawi song Diamond Hua’ was removed from YouTube due to copyrights. Parveen claimed to have copyrights on Sanam Marwi’s song, which was later removed from YouTube, while earlier the 12th season of Coke Studio’s 12 songs was removed due to ‘copyright. Abrar-ul-Haq’s song ‘Bloo’ and Rachel Vakaji and Shuja Haider’s ‘Sian’ for the second installment of Coke Studio 12 were also removed due to copyright. Interestingly, Abrar-ul-Haq’s own song ‘Blow’ was removed after being sued by a private entertainment company. Similarly, the songs of Rachel Vakaji and Shuja Haider were also removed due to copyright. Following claims of copyright, the administration released all four songs in the fifth installment on Facebook instead of YouTube.
