According to the news agency 64-year-old, Bill Gates abandoned his daily affairs a decade ago to focus on the foundation’s work, along with his wife, Melinda.
Bill Gates continued to serve as chairman of Microsoft board of directors until 2014 and is now completely separated from every Microsoft.
Its been an honor to work with Bill Gates over the years and to learn from them, said Satya Nadella, chief executive of Microsoft. He said Bill Gates founded the company with a belief in the power of access to software and the solution to the challenges facing society. Bill Gates will continue to serve as a technical advisor, and Microsoft will continue to benefit from their technical enthusiasm and advice, Satya Nadella said.

It should be noted that Bill Gates resigned from the position of chief executive officer in 2000 to give more time to his welfare organization, which was replaced by Steve Ballmer.
